Well, she runs...
She's been off the road since the FD Barossa Cruise last year having some mods and tweaks, and I finally rego'ed her this morning and took her out for a short run..
The new Ohlins shocks are WILD.. even with 14/14Kg springs the car rides better than than with the Bilsteins I had on previously, with 10/8 springs.
I've currently got my "new" track wheels on the car (Adjusts old Racing Harts), and I must say I'm surprised how good it looks.. first time I've had black wheels on the car, and it looks very menacing... sitting a bit lower now too.
I've also installed a custom Intercooler Spray, fully adjustable from inside the cabin, and I'm keen to see how that works out too.
I'll get some new pics up once the car gets detailed properly tomorrow..

yeah nice one dave and if you've got any parts you wanna move you know who to speak to. also i know a guy whos got some sick wheels for an fd you'd want. theyre black and silver ah bugger it, hasn't worked so far tricking people into swapping for my rims, doubt its going to work with you.
your running a to4 arent you? and haltech (i assume?) how much power are you making (or have you not had it dynoed lately?)
so are the ohlins coilovers? are you another coilover user that swears by them or depends on the application?
how were the bilsteins? good for the money or are there better out there?
i'll have to come show you mine (you can see mine if i can see yours, nothing sexual though :) )
ive never seen it in the flesh, so what else is done? you've got a carbon bonnet, re amemiya headlights (i know jesse really wants some!) chrome mesh wheels (but now running brads wheels as you said)
yeah i know, i ask alot of questions!

Damn, you ask a lot of questions! lol
Pretty happy with my wheel situation at the moment thanks :) I've got 4 sets now..
I'm running a Garret GT38-R, Haltech E11V2. Makes about 260RWKW, boost limited to 13lbs. I'll most likely go to E85 sometime this year, should be interesting, and expecting 400KW..
I just took Bilsteins off, and I wouldn't touch them again.. the ride was horrible, and I'm not sure they actually improved handling in any way.
First impressions are that the Ohlins are AMAZING, but I'm going for a decent drive later today, I'll form a better judgement then.
And yep, would be good to catch up... Luke is planning a bit of an FD photo shoot after Joe's wedding tomorrow week, you might want to chat with him about that?

Interesting with the E85 idea Dave, is upgrading to the fuel system necessary to handle the E38? as the fuel can cause corrosion on all iron components in the fuel system. That's mind boggling amount of power...
about time you did this!
i wanna see current pics

expecting 400kw at wheels...??...phew hard to beleive...unless your spending another 20 grand... my mate has 425kw at fours wheels in his r32 gtr...which dosent come out to much :( he has spent around $50000 on his motor and turbos... killz anything pritty much.....and i just about pass out when he hits second gear with the power... he can get a 1000 hp if he just changes his turbo's to even bigger... but you wont be able to drive on the road.... anyway way to much money to be wasteing on cars i think... if a cop dosnt like your car then bang there goes all your wasted money.... :-)

Hey Justin..
We got a couple FD's on Fdrx7.com making 400 easy..
One is a Bridgey, but he's only running about 18lbs boost IIRC (That's Adjust)..
The other is virtually stock, running the same Turbo as me at about 30lbs...
So it's definitely achievable..
I agree, 400 is way overkill for the street, but I intend to get back on the track this year, and drive Wakefield Park, Philip Island (at least).. So the power will be fun lol
When the Cat comes back off for trackwork, I'm sure she will blow decent flames again lol
All the kids spectating at Mallala used to call me the "fire car" lol

whys it hard to beleive??? i saw an fd running a to4z from garabedianracing (i only mention this one as i saw it a few days ago) making an easy 500hp (about 375kw) running sensible boost with basic supporting fuel intercooler ems mods (as daves has) with ethanol.
not sure where the $20,000 comes from either. the specs of his turbo speak for themselves.
Garrett Number: GT38R Part Number: 739619-5004
Comp Housing: 1.00 AR Turbine Housing: 1.47
externally gated, 750 HP efficiency zone.
big number YES hard to beleive NO.
all the best with it dave and i hope you get the numbers your after.

yeah all sounds cool hay...yeah i know 400kw is achievable... but yeah for the road its to much... my mates gtr is way to fast for the road....not that it stops us....but its 4wd ,,,i couldnt imagine 400kw with just rear wheel ..not much traction..... and yeah youd probally have to go bridgeport with huge turbo and injection.... and this sort of engine will not last long thats the problem.... but i guess if you have all the money and time i cant wait to see the outcome..... anyway 260kw would be enough fun for me hay.... and yeah like to see those flames lol.... justin :)
400rwkw in a first gen is def too much for the street, in a GREAT chassis like the FD though i cant see it being a problem. Stupidly fast yes!
no reason why a bridgy turbo cant be reliable and last a reasonable amount of time.
