Mount Alma is a winding stretch of road in Hindmarsh Valley, South Australia, between Yankalilla and Victor Harbor.
Get yourself in the right spot, and you can see each of the 150 competitors cover the entire 1.6km run, or move around the spectator areas to see the cars from all angles.
Reaching some spectator points will require a walk up the hill, but the start line is a great spot to see the cars up close and then watch and listen as they are launched straight at the steep incline before the first corner
A canteen will be running all weekend, with proceeds of the barbeque going to Cure4CF (Cystic Fibrosis), the event's nominated charity. Live timing will be displaying competitor times and rankings throughout both days, and entry to the event and parking are free.
As all spectator areas are on private property, no dogs or alcohol are permitted at the event.
Competition starts at 11:30am on Saturday 10th April, and at 9:00am on Sunday 11th April, running until 5pm both days.
At 3pm on Sunday, the Top 12 Shootout begins. The 12 fastest competitors over the weekend will take one "make or break" run along the Mile. Based only on this one run, the fastest 6 are decided, and will run again, to decide the fastest 3. The fastest 3 will then run off to decide the winner.
How Do I Get There?
The site for the 2010 asp Mount Alma Mile Hillclimb is approximately 3.5km along the Mount Alma Road at Hindmarsh Valley.
If coming from Yankalilla, follow the Yankalilla Victor Harbor Road for 18.5km and turn left into Mount Alma Road.
From Victor Harbor, follow the Inman Valley Road for approximately 11.5km and turn right into Mount Alma Road.

On the weekend of April 10th & 11th 2010, the asp Mount Alma Mile Hillclimb will be held on a steep, winding stretch of road in South Australia?s Hindmarsh Valley, but drivers will begin competing next week, just to get a starting place in the popular event.
The 2009 event had a maximum start list of 120 competitors, and the overwhelming number of entries received forced early closure of entries, with organisers still having to turn away more than 60 potential competitors.
Entries for 2010 will open at 10am ACDST on Monday 25th January with the release of the event Supplementary Regulations and Entry Form on the event website, www.mountalmamile.com. This year?s event will have a field of 150 competitors, and a place has already been reserved for the top 12 from 2009. The first 100 entries received will be accepted, leaving the remaining 38 places for vehicles and drivers of special note, to be decided by the organisers from all other entries received.
Michael Clements, who heads the event as Clerk of Course, has already been receiving enquiries about 2010, and is looking forward to repeating the success of 2009. ?It was a really fun event to run last year, because everybody was so enthusiastic, from the drivers to the officials, the Victor Harbor Council and the local land owners.?
The event will once again support Cure4CF, an organisation funding research into a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.
