The 2009 series was decided in Round 3 (the final), as 6 drivers could have won the championship going into the final round. In one of the most exciting events seen at Mallala, Simon Podlewski took out the Championship after finishing 3rd on the Day. Jake Jones won the final round after a sensational final battle, which sore 'Mr Consistent', James Mardle finish second. Mardle also finished second in the Championship, with Jake Jones collecting 3rd for the year.

G1 is Australia’s longest running (5 years) and most successful drifting competition, and 2010 will again bring the state's and nation's best out to prove that they are at the top of the tree in one of nation's most highly regarded drift competitions.
