Alright guys im pretty sure there used to be a bit of info regarding this topic on the old sarotors forum, but i cant seem to find anything on this one..
basically looking for anyone who has done and/or knows about the process involved in legally converting a rx3/808 to either a 12at or 13bt

Someone quote me if im wrong..
but im sorta doing the same at the mo. Getting a 20BT engineered into a S1.
Firstly you need to fill out and send a modification form (found on transport SA website) to Transport SA. - This is like a permission slip which the gov will get back to you and either give you a thumbs up or thumbs down depending on your modification wish list.
Then its as simple as finding a good engineer to verify that the work has been done properly.
Im not sure if there are any final checks done by regency as im not up to that stage. But The engineer helps you get through making sure all the required work is done to a high standard.
*There is a simple power to weight formula on the website, so if your power of your new engine is within those specs it would be as simple as getting an id check.
12AT (stock) might get through with out any hassles.
