so i headed out modbury way with a few mates to check out the 5th ben simpson memmorial cruise. there was actually a lot of cars out there, over 50 for sure ranging from wrx's evo's silvia's (1 with a 2jz thats for munkey matt!) skylines and of course rotors.
rotors were jesse's fd
a silver fd (haven't met him before)
a white fc
and a black cosmo.
i was in the pimped vl but the only attention i got was from 1 guy who stuck his head in the window i'm assuming looking for a boost gauge (sorry to dissapoint!) mind you i didn't even get around to putting a for sale sign on it.
one interesting thing that happened was a white vy commodore had a massive explosion under the bonnet which plumed smoke 3 storey high, not sure what the explosion was but when the bonnet was popped it revealed a turbo v6, then when leaving the meet point he let everyone know what else he had by wasting a tonne of nos purging it to atmosphere brian spilner style (and if you've ever run nos, it aint cheap so that show cost him a bit of dosh for no performance gain)
at about 7pm we had the speech as to why we were there and to take time to pay respect to those fallen comrads.

anyone who has any other pics to add feel free. would of got more of the fd's and other rotors but theyre a bit quicker than my vl (just a tad!)

Looks like it wasn't a bad cruise.. Always a good cause but sounds like it wasn't as big as past cruises.

Very good turn out! I would have been there if it wasn't for my damn deserted garden, now I couldn't feel my arms.

BTW, if I'm not mistaken, the silver FD is Christian, a 20 yro dude, old mate of Munky, and not on any forums, he was at the sarotor b'day cruise meet.

If it's the guy I'm thinking of, it's his dads :) He looked at my old FC when I was selling it and they rolled up in the FD.

Christian's FD has been out to pretty much all of the SAR stuff; I've made sure of that.

and vortex nope actually christian owns it... he saved up all his own cash ($20k deposit) and bought it during year 12 with a loan which he paid off also... his dad used to drive it occasionally because his parents bought the insurance on it (technically bought it as a company car to avoid speeding fines; which has worked out for them ~5 times - none of the fines belonging to christian)...

IIRC he owned the car on the japanese docks before he had his P's

that said he paid for it; he was hermit because all he did was save money

Some drunk bogan punched the rear right hand quarter just next to fuel filler so it'll have to be repaired now ><


Cruise was boring but we went for a drive after the williamstown meet and that was great ;D That cosmo was awesome and I wish I'd seen the 2jz powered s13 :(

gimmie a break matt, i know all you young fellas are drug dealers or affiliates of gang of 49, i saw a special on today tonight and leigh mcklusky doesn't lie ;)
i don't give a crap who owns it, it was a sweet car.

and the 2 jz silvia, it was that green one with the bonnet scoop and the L plates on it. he left then came back in the carpark in the middle of the speech. one of the black r32's had a 2jz in it too. the difference in sound between an rb and a jz is obvious as.

i would of said hello, but i didn't know who the silver fd was so i just said hello to jesse then bitched and moaned the rest of the time with my arms crossed how i was stuck in a crappadore (i'm waiting for a sympathetic cry, oh wait thats a violin god dammit)

Speaking of silver FD, I just met another S6 at the Darlington BP at around 5:30pm today, he was right behind me, the dude came up and asked me about premix as he saw me doing it, we had a few minutes chat, he's another non-forumer, car is stock and mint as with chrome Enkei RPF1 rims, and it has a blue Enkei sticker on the front fender. There are more rotars then we know of...

whats up ket? i got a little something in mind, but i'm keeping it hush hush until it comes through. it's all dependant on gettin rid of the vl (really can't fit 4 cars in the driveway so one has to go first). if that doesn't happen, i'l just keep using the vl and keep saving then get an fd (fingers and toes crossed). only problem is justifying an fd (which i couldn't daily, it would kill me to do that!) as it would be alot of money but you only live once right!!
see how it all pans out. you guys will be the first to know though (behind my neighbours probably going "jesus not another one"
like the reason for selling my rx2, i need something thats already worked as job commitments don't leave me too much free time, so i need something i can have fun in without weeks at a time in the workshop.
