hey guys after building a few drift cars and leaving rotas alone for a bit, the rota bug got me again, my mate had this rx4 in his shed for a while and did not touch it, originally it come from Melbourne matching numbers from factory, got sold to a guy in adelaide and he striped it all, spent 2500 getting rust fixed and panels welded in, engine bay painted and door jams,
he also got j lake to rebuild the 12a twin dizzy with rx7 internals and a large extend port, motor looks unreal like new, cost 4500 for the build on motor,
then he sold it off to my mate who just sat it in the shed, so i gave him 3500 for the whole lot and now sits in my shed getting the love it needs.
i have had the car for 2 weeks and was a bear shell so after work on the hot hot days i had to get to work on the engine bay 10 hours later motor is in and all engine bay is neat and tidy and almost ready to go just got struck cant fit gearbox with one person lol,
got the car booked in for paint in 2 months then put it all together then take her through regrency should pass no worrys as everything on car will be brand new, then the plates mr rx4 will go on as i owned mr rx3 few years ago,
i am also chasing a few parts to get the engine bay finished ill chuck i list up shortly for now here r some pics enjoy guys

yes true to that my mates was slack but now its in good hands, engine bay was easy mate redone it back to bare metal then got resprayed again but she is coming along good just hard to find all the bolts and nutz so i gotta keep buying new ones should be finished after christmas if all goes well, im going fast as i can to build it but perfect takes its time

furture plans is bridgeport the motor and convo pros with black leather interior, and thats it trying to keep it stock and tryint to stay away from a 13bt lol

yeah my mate could not sell this at all dont know why all the hard work was done just needed a quick paint job it is a complete car just in a hundred boxes, but motor alone 0 kms still with vase on the seals, just wanna hurry up and get some paint on it so i can get it on the road for the next crusie

yeah man ben is a good mate of mine this sat in my shed for ages now its back and finally getting finished,
update sitting all panels back on for now, due to talking to my panel beater he wants it after christmas, cant wait.
gearbox and starter motor on, engine bay looks sweet now ill post new pics soon

had new wheel wel welded in and new seal panels new rear garnish, had alot of cash spent on her

It was Adam the owner of the panel shop in Goolwa who did all that work
as far as I know he was only paid a small amount for the job to start
and never got paid for the incomplete work.......
If hed gotn paid the car woulda been finished fully restoed before leaving the shop......
was suppoed 2 be built 4 a wedding, but buildin houses etc apparently took the guys cash? he promised to pay the rest, bring the car back and get it finished...
that was a few years ago now, but earlier this year due to family reasons
and customers not payin their bills.....
he shut up shop and went to live in queensland

oil mixture lines and rod and linkage
clutch slave for 12a twin dizzy set up
tread connector in timing cover for oil cooler lines and bolt for back one
new battery leads
exhaust put on
accertor cable
heater hoses
and vac connector and line for booster
passenger side engine bay brake line
then bang fire the beast up not bad for 3 weeks work

new shell complete is getting a few mods 12a bridgeport extend is getting rebuilt by me and binnzy this week then hopefully get it running asap ill get some pics of the build as we go
i have test fitting solid couner seals and side seals, all fit nice just waiting on housings exhaust port to be opened up a little bigger all porting work done by binnzy on this forum

well do this week bro im building the motor wednesday so ill get pics then, i scored the car cheap as and its so mint so its getting the loving it needs,
also good when i got all the conversion gear from the rx4 shell i had so its all just waiting on motor to be built

engine is built all done at home with binzy motor looks unreal big compression and looking forward to building more pics of motor being built will be up tomorrow, and hopefully getting it all in next week as the piston motor let go yesterday

na stripped that shell as i found a painted one with same colour for a cheap price but all rota gear went into new shell, is show condition but engine bay not up to show condition but it will be once motor is all running happy

all motor built in 4 hours and put in car and changed it to piston to rota and kicking motor over in 2 days of work on it, saves me lots of cash when doing it at home

so what have you got left before its semi on the road (or drivable) you've got the engine to fit i know that. is the gearbox in or thats out too?
is the interior and dash all in? or did the new painted shell you got come with mint interior too??
not sure where your up to since you switched bodies. have you still got the convos on order or is that on the back burner now??

ill give a big update for ya since i got the 929
swapped rx4 mint interior into the 929
swapped the dished stock rims with wheel trims onto the 929 hubby caps went
built 12abp up was ready to be on the road if i sorted the dizzy and carby out but too many hours went by and gave me the craps so just the block went. leaving the car still complete but missing block
now i got a quickmaz 13bbp that made 196hp on mild tune but is missing carby
so the parts i need to finish it all and get it all done is
13b extractors
new tail shaft made up to suit rx5 box
and Ida Weber
then wire my new dizzy up and she is all done for now
convos are still on the cards but now must wait till big tax check comes in ill get some new pics next weeks after i give her a wash and new motor will be in

are you going with the ida webber style set up or s4/s5 manifold injection set up?? i remember my rx3 coupe i had with a race bridgeport, everytime i started it i'd be grinning from ear to ear :)
you'll have to get a youtube link up when you get it running for the first time so we can hear it (or bring it to the next meet if its running by then)

it has extractors through to rotaflow resy.it un bolts from extractors and then rebolts just after diff.its all there except for the last foot or two and muffler..had it on my 4 sedan before i went turbo and changed my whole setup.. had it on a 13B resi engine... cheers josh

few troubles with the beast still cant get it started, its all done besides wheels waiting for them to get here ended up scraping the diff and brakes as i found oms simmons 17 to suit my stud pattern. so still got the roh wheels but are sold to my mate

just purchased mt4, to4z,injection perfection and looking for a turbo motor now as my bridgeport is up for grabs
just found some convo pros for this as i sold the simmons

hey guys got a phone call today saying my motor is ready. come out of a crashed rx7 here in adelaide went down and pick it up from a late night workshop, looked like a plain old motor. owner told me its a jre 13bep avaition seals, new housings, and doweled im like yeah ok acted dumb, got up close and under the dirt is polished housing writen on them mad max not sure if thats jukes trade mark but motor inside looks brand new from end plates to housing im like wow handed him 800 with brand new clutch and packed it in car got home and clean it up here are the pics what do u guys think bargain or what

yeah can see it worth about 3500 just for the block still has writing from jukes s5 ep on the housings, end plates look new as still very clean, housings damm must only done 2000kms max, and can still see the gold colour on the rotors, josh and nath saw it today they were like dammm bargain now time to get it running for some up coming cruz we gonna plan cruz then counter meal

well all i need to do is slap my timing cover on and sump then put my s5 housing on my rx4 box and wiring up the mt4 then it should be done ready to go ill be working on it everyday till its ready to go to tune so maybe 2 to 3 weeks fingers crossed hope binzy can help out when he can make my life easyer its all go from here getting new pics on weekend as all the wheels and stickers are on

yeah motor is in radiator and oil cooler in abit hard putting gearbox in by my self lol then its just hooking it all up then tune so close

Yeah i know what you mean about putting a gearbox in by you self as i have done my supra box about 3 time at least LOL

few new changes turbo setup sold and another turbo kit purchased s5 highflow with manifold and dump ready to bolt in rx4 for 500 bargain wont go on till next year.
got pwr intercooler lined up with piping to suit rx4 mates rates,
rang jase today and car is off to shop for final parts and tune, stay tuned for finished pics

The reason Goolwa Smash shut down was due to the owner having an ice problem and the inability to complete work or even show up at the workshop. As for the quality of work, he was as rough as guts, so many complaints about the quality of workmanship, the length of time to even have a quote submitted to the insurance companies. The work I had done there was below average, the paint being very motley and full of shit due to lack of a real booth.....
