FC, Fuel Guage Dead

Hi guys,

As the titles says in Kats FC the fuel guage is now not working?

Can anyone point me to where this fault is likely to be before i start pulling everything apart.

The fuel pump etc is all working fine, its just the guage, all the other guages are also working fine.

Could be a number of things my top two would be either the sender has failed or isn't connected to the guage OR the fuel guage has actually died died as in dead.

broken wire in the loom going up to the back of the cluster??? very common in R32/33 skylines, could be the same for FC's just a thought :)

Sender's the easiest to get to via the boot, try swapping that over first.

If that doesn't work I've got a spare S4 cluster you can borrow and try, I think the plugs are the same - not certain though.

Well it looks like its the float, filled the car up and the guage is working again. so looks like the float is not working properly or got caught or somehting. will have a better look at that at some stage :)
