thermo fan question

I've had to buy an electric fan to cool the engine of my s3 rx4 sedan because the clutch fan a got second hand hits the bottom radiator hose. I ordered the fan from Davies Craig for an rx4. Now the instructions say I need 80mm clearance from the electric fan to the fan pully but I only have 20mm, is this ok? Also the fan is too big for the radiator and is sitting below covering the oil cooler, is this ok too?

Can anyone advise on these two problems

i dont know why u "need" 80mm clearance if you have it wired up in a pull mode from the front of the car then all u need is physical clearance between the fan motor and and pulley.

excess coverage is fine. u would ideally want it to be centered but overlap is fine.

over your oil cooler I would think is a good thing. Mine always have been slightly.
