View Full Version : FD running on one rotor?

Im looking to buy a FD for cheap, the problem is that the engine is running on one rotor and stinks like fuel. With other engines I have destroyed over the years when they run on 1 rotor they dont like to start, but this one does quite easily but then just proceeds to run on one rotor. It will rev but it doesn't like load on the engine and doesn't accelerate well. The guy assures me that the compression if 110 even on all rotor faces and that the problem is electrical. So im wondering if theres any common faults with these that can cause this to happen? I have read that the TPS could be out or the igniter is stuffed or a primary injector is stuck open, is any of this possible?
Also theres a bit of oil in the intake pipe just before the throttle body, stuffed turbos?
Also how many numbers do the engine numbers have in these things as the one on the block doesnt seem to have enough?

Cheers in advance.

First.. get a compression check done yourself..

If it really IS 110 on all faces, then it's most likely ignition coils or wiring. If the igniter is gone it wouldn't fire at all (in my experience)..

Oil in the inlet isn't unusual.. unless it's pooling a lot, turbos are probably OK.
