Well, my dream has been realized, and I have set up a reversing camera on the back of the car, pointing at the exhaust, and redone the centre console in my series 1, with carbon fiber pattern, and an integrated video screen, to show live, fire coming from the exhaust.

I'm no sparky, but this project was dead simple.

Will upload a video of it in action soon,

Any questions, flick em this way? And if anyone else has done a similar mod, please let me know

You are a champion, I can't believe I never thought of doing this myself.

How the refresh rate on the reversing camera? Quick enough to catch all the flames?

Refresh rate is perfect for it - is there any interest out there for me to make a HowTo article? including links for the video camera and screen off ebay?

Here's a quick, yet very shit quality video of the screen in action - the actual video is far sharper, however the phone camera couldn't keep up:

YouTube - FlameCamDemo

And for those of you who have not seen the external video of the flames, taken with a GoProHD, here it is:

YouTube - LPG RX-7 Spitting Flames

Any interest out there for a decent video of this setup, accompanied by a howto guide?
