are we about to see the first car crushed in adelaide. the 24 year old busted doing 219kmph in his s15 on the port river express way at 4.30am. i think the cops are letting the courts decide, but due to the high speeds this could be the guy the cops have been looking for to make an example of. what do you think?? Could this be the first car crushed??

Doubt it, as to have your car crushed you have to be caught three times.

He will have his car impounded, a big fine and a loss of license

True, i also read that any car that was worth anything would be sold and the $$ to victims of crime. I would say that if they were going to take his car away they would more than likely sell it rather than crush it because of its value.

My car is property of savings and loans credit union, id like to see them fight the bank for the right it sell it or crush it, i also believe if the car is rego in someone else's name it cant be taken.

But if you can afford a good lawyer then none of this should matter anyway

My cars are all getting transferred into my wifes name in the next few days
for this very reason!!!!!!!!!
If you dont own the car they cant touch it
I thought the laws were HOON laws
that fella wasnt being a hoon just speeding excessively!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

not sure about the last couple of statements, because they still impound cars regardless of if the driver is the registered owner or not so thought the same would go for the new laws.

Your right Ryan, doesnt matter who the car is registered to, it will still get impounded and then possibly crushed

they can still impound your car....and fine the driver
talk to the Journo who had the Ferrari Californian impounded
they just cant crush it if it doesnt belong to you!!!!!
just like they cant take your house if ya go broke, if its in someone elses name
