Well its a bit late but i've decided to finally put together a intro thread, hopefully it will be almost as cool as Simon's but i doubt it coz he has FD's everywhere in his :frown: and its got a 5 star rating lol.
Anyway my name is Jesse, i'm 26 and i'm another rota nut just like you guys! http://www.forumsextreme.com/images/sFun_crazy.gif love motorsport, mainly spectating so far as i'm still getting my car sorted but i'm super keen to get into some local events such as hill climbs and time attack!
Had a few cars but i tend to keep my cars for a while rather than sell them. 1st car was a white piston powered 1971 series 1 capella (with a 76 model rear end conversion due to a previous crash) i was inspired by a mate and a couple of the older guys at high school with R100, rx2 and rx3's.
Bought a couple of Rx2 coupe's as a project but after stripping them down they were way to rusty so i ended up selling them to fund the 12a engine build up for the capella.
had a series 2 RX7 12a engine built by Jukes ex JRE, big extended port, 48 IDA etc. made 90 rw kw. went hard as! the capella was written off in 05 so i stripped it and sold the motor to my bro and we put it in his red series 2 rx7 with jap rear bar etc which sold mid last year with the same engine in it still going strong. (now belongs to FC3S_flamethrower)
*** Just found some old pics of the caps.. the day i took those pics was a sad day. Would love to find more pics if anyone has any pm me.

http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/5118/crashpella002jz3.jpg
Bought a series 2 RX7 with 12at, engine was built by mark ex madaz. had series 4 high flow turbo, s4 TMIC converted to FMIC, microtech MT4, s4t box conversion etc. made approx 160 kw. my mates FC came up for sale so i sold the 1st gen to a guy from melbourne who bought it for his wife http://www.forumsextreme.com/images/sSc_scarednervous.gif
Bought the FC which is now my current car, have modified it quite a bit since purchasing it from my mate. had low comp so got it cheap at the time. Here is a pic of the day i bought it off my mate
http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/517/010meu.jpg
This is pretty much how it looks today
http://www.sarotors.org/forum/picture.php?albumid=42&pictureid=510
theres a few pics of my series 2 and FC in my album http://www.sarotors.org/forum/album.php?albumid=42
Enjoy :popcorn3:

Just a little update.. got some new project mu B-spec pads today and some Motul RBF600 racing fluid from autosport, I spoke to a guy called peter, he was very helpful and did me a good deal. When i get back from NZ i'll be getting the braided lines made and rebuilding the calipers and master cylinder. Thats all... for now :D

Got a bit motivated today and started pulling my dash apart so i can replace all the broken parts with the new and used ones i bought ages ago.
http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/4861/p7182832.jpg
As i started i found more broken bits and now i cant go any further because i need some more dash screws and my headlight switch has broken screw tabs aswell
Anyone have any FC dash screws laying around spare... Also need a headlight switch, not broken. Mazda want a bazillion dollars for a new one...

I think ive seen it near hawkers corner a few times if so. Used to, i've put a Velo fixed back in now. Yeah i work up the road from hawkers corner, havent driven it to work in a while though. There's a white FC that lives just behind CMI Toyota, not yours by any chance?

these arent just normal screws are they?? theyre trims specific (plastic or something)?? if theyre just everyday screws i've got a big assed milo tin full of screws from over the years and never had to buy one yet.
i had to put two in my fd steering column last weekend from someone who obviously has a collection of screws like me (whether he knows it or not)
if theyre just normal screws you can go through my tin to find some, if you go to bunnings you gotta pay like $8 for a packet of 100 (guess you'll never run out again though)
are they the broad head black self tapper type? or the longer skinny type like from the shroud?
oh and a piece of advice, if while the dash is apart you decide you like white faced gauges, pay gauge works to fit them. the tiny needles and well clumbsy fingers it cost me my fuel gauge in my fc (i ballsed it up nice!!)

I've ordered a couple from mazda which should do the job for now but if i need any more i'll give you a call man.
I've looked at some jap white face guage kits, el glow guages kits etc but i think i'll just leave it stock for now, unless i come a cross a knightsports, panspeed, mazdaspeed or RE amemiya 300kph speedo guage but they are rare as these days!

Finally got a replacement headlamp switch which isnt broken!! hey simon i won the bid on the knightsports 260km/h cluster on ebay so putting my dash back together is on hold till i get it sent over. Plus i'm also waiting for my new works bell steering wheel kit to get here from Japan ;)
Waiting on the rear caliper kit from Mazda Japan (still ) so brakes are on hold aswell so i Fitted my Attain cooling panel today since i cant do much else. had to fit brackets to the overflow reservior to tilt it so it clears the panel but looks pretty good. http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/5145/picture053pv.jpg
Got an Xtreme Rotaries Short shifter kit aswell, will be fitting that tomorrow. :D Damn it i just want to drive my car again!! Hopefully i dont have to wait much longer for my rear caliper kit so i can get started dont want to pull everything apart till i have all the parts to put it back together again)

Just met Jesse for first time today, helped me out with some Toyota corolla parts.
Looking at your old crashed Capella and now I remember something funny...
I remember going with my uncle down south in his FA3TS 1300 to sell some Capella rear window venetian blinds. We stopped on the side of the road to do the deal.
Im pretty sure you were the one buying them as there was a sarotors cruise or something that day or the next and on your way down you got T boned and couldnt make the cruise.
haha small world we live in!

I cant remember exactly but my capella never had venetians but my brothers did and we took them out to sell them... Yeah main south road o'halloran hill near the vic hotel. Small world man.
It was about 42 degrees and my car was getting hot on the way to the SA Rotors birthday cruise i think?? in 2005, took a back street and got T boned.

oh and a waste of a sweet car :) Yeah the A pillar took the majority of the impact. my brother had a big bruises from the original mazda passenger seatbelt though. it did its job at least. The car didnt all go to waste.. only the shell went to sims. still selling off parts.

I've finally started getting somewhere with the brake overhaul! i've had all my calipers rebuilt, master cylinder rebuilt (master cylinder was the main cause of my poor braking and spongy pedal) got all the braided hoses custom made etc. Now its re-assembly time. Painted my hubs last night with VHT brake paint since my wheels dont have centre caps they blend in a bit better.
Had the hoses master cyl and calipers done by all clutch and brake at edwardstown, they also painted them gloss black for me which was included in the rebuild cost. might even sand back the mazda logo so it stands out for extra wank factor.
I'll post some progress pics in the next few days.

did you end up getting the braids sleeved for legalities sake or not? did they paint the master cylinder too? i painted mine but got told it was illegal to paint them incase of cracks not being visable. could be just an old wives tale though.
i gotta update my page soon too, just having computer issues for the 100th time so cant upload the pics from home. i'l get around to it soon enough.
you waiting on anything else for the brakes or just gotta put it all back to gether now? you should get some flashing valve caps to match your sanded mazda embossing :) just joking, nothing wanky about that. (the sanding that is, im pretty sure flashing valve caps fall into that category though.)

lookin good bro!! what the prob with the feel? still a bit spongy or what? always get niggles when you strip everything. what ended up being the prob getting pressure in the system?
dont forget you owe me a spin mofo (when you get it sorted, not keen on your driving style if you can't stop!!)
bet it felt good driving it again though!!

bet it felt good driving it again though!!I reckon it was coz i was being a cheapskate and re-using the new fluid i pumped out, i reckon there must have still been tiny air bubbles in it. when i bought some more cheap fluid from the servo i started pumping out massive air bubble clusters so it was just full of air. I reckon there must still be a little bit of air in the system, the pedal is good enough to stop but seems a little spongy still. I'm so over bleeding it though might get the boys at work to do it for me.
I've been driving it a bit this weekend, feels good to be back behind the wheel of a rota again!

http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/5023/picture012yn.jpg yeah cant wait to go for another drive with some other rotaries, saw a silver FD down brighton espy today, gave him a thumbs up. That sparkle is the camera flash reflecting on the rapfix flipper which you pull towards you to detach the wheel.
