hey guys just wondering if any rotors are headin out to mallala on the 22 may for the car practice day.
Im headin out there to practice for the first time, it would be cool if i wasnt the only rotor.

some details about the day.
Non Competition drivers need a Helmet with AS1698 APPROVAL by CAMS, clothing (non synthetic) with full length sleeves and leg coverage.
$100 for practice
$25 for one day license. (non competition drivers purchase a one license)
for road cars not cams approved. Need to be road worthy and the driver will need to sign a wavier form to state it is road legal.
sign in starts 9 am
practice starts at 10 am
practice finish at 4 pm

like to but highly doubt my clutch would be in by then, not looking like having it til late nextweek then need to fit it. i think its coming via donkey and cart or something.
il go out for a look though.

just a street car trackday isnt it, not like a drift event is it. could be some street porsches out there to smoke or something, which we all know we like to do :)

Does an Aus std MX helmet get covered by CAMS?

Also, what happens when your car is not "road approved/registered" Does it just get scruitneered by CAMS officials??

I'd be keen for the next one for sure once i've sorted my brakes. Thats the same day as the Adelaide hills tarmac rally aswell

Helmet is fine as long as it has the Aust. standard sticker on it. I believe it needs to be less than ten years old as well.

Just chuck some rego on it and it's fine jimmy ;)

hey guys didnt get a chance to get on here till now.
i emailed mallala about the practice day and this is what the reply was.

Yes you can just turn up, no booking is required, and a one day licence is available on the day for $25.00. Your car needs to be roadworthy, you will be asked to sign an Indemnity stating that it is. The only other requirement is clothing, Standards approval helmet and cotton or wool clothing from ankle to wrist, closed leather shoes. Please phone office on 82767744 if you have any other questions. Chris.

i think your car doesnt need to be road registered as long as its road worthy and you sign stating it is. i was told they dont actually scruitineer the car. they may do now not sure. its new to me aswell
im goin out on standard brakes, just put new bendix pads in and im gonna give the brakes a bleed durin the week.
hope to see all of ya out there.

Might be worth checking if you need a fire extingusher as well.
It has been a requirement every time I've been out, but it might just be in the sup regs for those meets. ;)
Edit: You may also need a blue triangle sticker to indicate where the battery is located.

i didnt need anything like that. they just made us sign a form to state that the car was road worthy and that we understand all the track rules.
great fun cant wait to do it again. need better tyres though had stuff all grip could not load up the car at all, it just wanted to understeer goin in or step out the rear mid corner and exit but a whole lot of fun.
